Is this your first time shopping at HWGA?  Check out these tips to make your trip a big success!

  1. Make a list and prioritize. You are going to see many adorable items not on that list- decide before hand what you are willing to spend on "extras" and what is priority. For example, a diaper bag may be high on the list or maybe you are going to find a great used bike. With 2 boys, I always like to stock up on shoes and pajamas. Thankfully, the sale is beautifully organized by gender and size, making things easy to find.
  2. Consider returning for sale days. Some items' tags are marked with a small star/symbol which means they are eligible for discount on later days in the sale. When I see something that is a "want" (aka not on the "must get" list), I ask myself if I can wait for a sale day to buy it, or if I should buy it right away.
  3. Feel free to shop liberally, then edit. Lots of shoppers grab what they like, then find a (sometimes hard to find) quiet spot to sort through their haul to decide what they really want to purchase. Leave any unwanted items with sale team members to be put away.
  4. Grab one size up. It really does seem like kids just wake up one day and their toes are scrunched up in their shoes and their pants are now capris. Grab the next size up in clothes and shoes so you don't have to run to the store mid-winter and pay full price. If they stay the same size, then save for next year!
  5. Bring a large bag and leave the stroller at home. During peak times, this sale gets BUSY. They may run out of bags for shoppers. Bring your own- or even two. Obviously, if you have to bring your child(ren) with you, a stroller might be necessary. But, aisles can be busy, and bumping into others (or being bumped into) is common but not fun.
  6. Think of others while shopping. Some deals are truly too good to pass up. School nurses need clothes for kids who have accidents, church nurseries could use more toys, and there are kids that need coats. This sale is a fantastic way to grab those things at a fraction of the cost.
  7. Bring a friend or family member. It's usually more fun to shop with someone else anyway, but at sales like these, extra hands can hold extra items, give you feedback, and help you load it all into your car!
  8. Check out the vendor deals. The sale vendors are a great way to grab birthday and holiday presents. Many also do raffles and giveaways.
